May 1785 [323]-53,54 Joseph Ruffin being duly sworn to give information respecting Confiscated property answereth & saith That BENJAMIN VICKERS informed him in consequence of having taken part with the British Army (when in this State, he should be obliged to leave this part of the the Country wished to sell his land, and offered it to the said Joseph Ruffin, but that if they should not agree, he intended to give his father a deed for a tract containing 320 acres and he the said Joseph Ruffin might purchase it of his said father JOHN VICKERS, which was accordingly done and the said Ruffin is now in possession of the said Land. And being further interrogated informs that the sd. BENJAMIN VICKERS conveyed another Tract of Land in like manner, of One hundred acres and is now possessed by Joseph Pender. John Morris being duly sworn to give information respecting confiscated property answereth and saith that He knows that BENJAMIN VICKERS did possess the Tract of Land containing 320 acres, whereon Joseph Ruffin now lives, and that he, the sd. Inventory May 217, 1782 with the admrx., which mentions money in the hands of Joseph Jones Spache and corn in the hands of Stephen Vickers. Division of property (Sept. 12, 1789) between SARAH VICKERS, SELANAH VICKERS and URIAH VICKERS. Petition (May, 1799) by CHRISTOPHER EDWARDS and wife SELANAH, stating the said SELANAH is the daughter of the dec'd, who died intestate in 1781 or 1782 and left a widow PHEREBEE VICKERS and three children, namely the petitioner, SALLY VICKERS and URIAH VICKERS. Record indicates PHEREBEE VICKERS was the mother of the said SELANAH and died in 1790. RALPH VICKERS was apptd. gdn. of SELANAH and URIAH in 1793, but URIAH died intestate and without issue in 1794 or 1795. SELANAH md. CHRISTOPHER EDWARDS in 1797.
